Solar panels on your roof convert sunlight into DC electricity. An inverter converts that into normal AC power, which feeds your house first. Anything you do not use at that moment is exported to the grid through a bi-directional meter, and you are billed only for the net units you draw. There are no moving parts and nothing to operate — it runs by itself from sunrise to sunset.

Under PM Surya Ghar, residential connections get ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. The subsidy is not a discount we deduct — it is transferred by the government directly into your bank account after your system is commissioned and net-metered. We register your application and follow it through. Commercial and industrial connections are not eligible.

In this region 1 kW generates roughly 120 units a month, so a 3 kW system produces about 360 units. If you are paying around ₹8 a unit that is close to ₹2,900 a month, or ₹35,000 a year. A household with a ₹3,000 monthly bill typically clears the net cost in three to four years and then has twenty-plus years of near-free power.

Divide your monthly consumption in units by 120 — that gives the kW you need to cover your usage. A 500-unit household needs roughly 4 kW. Do not oversize: exported surplus is credited at a lower rate than what you pay, so a system that matches your own consumption gives the best return. We check twelve months of bills at the survey before recommending a size.

About 80 square feet of shade-free roof per kW, so a 3 kW system needs roughly 240 square feet. The panels are mounted on a raised structure, so the space underneath stays usable — it is a common arrangement to put the array over a terrace and keep using the terrace.

A net meter records both the units you import from the grid and the units you export to it, and you pay only the difference. Yes — we file the application with APSPDCL, follow up the feasibility approval and coordinate the inspection and meter installation as part of the job.

Yes, at reduced output — a heavily overcast day might give 20 to 40 percent of a clear day. That is why the system is sized on an annual basis: the surplus banked in the bright months offsets the monsoon. Coastal Andhra gets around 300 clear days a year, which is among the better solar resources in India.

Not with a standard on-grid system. Grid-tied inverters are required by law to shut down when the supply fails, so that they do not energise a line that linesmen are working on. If you need power through outages you need a hybrid system with a battery, which we also install.

Very little. Wash the panels with plain water every two to four weeks in the dry season — dust on the glass is the main cause of lost output. Beyond that it is an annual check of the connections, earthing and inverter. We offer an annual maintenance contract, and the first year of service is included with every installation.

Solar modules carry a 12-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing at least 80 percent of rated output at year 25. Inverters carry five years as standard, extendable to ten. The mounting structure and our installation workmanship are warranted for five years.

Yes. Nationalised banks offer collateral-free rooftop solar loans for residential systems up to 10 kW with tenures up to ten years. We will help you put the application together. For most households the EMI works out close to the electricity bill it replaces.

The physical installation is two to four days for a typical home system. The full timeline from order to net-metering is usually four to eight weeks, and most of that is DISCOM approval and net-meter installation rather than our work.
